Thanks for all of the calls, texts, emails, etc....

WOW - boy, do Jon and I feel loved!! Thank you to those who have sent congratulatory emails, texts and phone calls on our baby news. And, I was silly enough to think the news would not travel, although I will say we have still managed not to tell everyone just yet. And, many of you were too cute and didn't want to comment on the blog since we hadn't told everyone yet - too cute!! We are still waiting for the ultrasound on Tuesday (just ONE week) before we really 'start spreading the news.'

I am STILL working on the new Mittelbronn Fam site which will have photos, a blog, etc. so everyone can keep up with us Mittelbronn's in the ATL(like you have nothing better to do, right?). So, a funny story about our baby news from a good friend of mine from college....

She calls/texts me last week and said she had the strangest feeling that I was pregnant and asked if I was. She had not talked to anyone nor had she heard this from anyone yet....she just had this feeling. Chime in the 'Twilight Zone' music now....doo doo doo doo doo doo......How bizarro is that? She did know Jon and I were trying but I was just floored by this. And, she also guessed another friend of our's pregnancy when she got pregnant last year (who had her baby in November 2008 - and our baby is due in November 2009...coincidence...I think not!)

Anyway, not too much to report on since my last post except Jon and I just basking in the excitement of our baby news. It still doesn't seem real....except for the constant cramps, constant need to pee, sore boobs, and constant worry that everything will be okay with peanut. I just can't wait for morning sickness which my mom ASSURES me I WILL without a DOUBT get...hers was horrible!! YAY - anything for peanut, though!

Oh, we did make some headway with our yardwork this weekend. First, the weather was beautiful so we took advantage of the outdoors. We have a LOT of pinestraw beds in our front and back yard and the general rule of thumb is to replace it every six months (spring and fall). And, ours was looking like it had not been replaced since the land before time...just kidding...but it was serious need of some replenishment.

However, I was not too keen on the pinestraw..I wanted pine bark nuggets but we thought it might be too expensive. So, we head on over to Lowe's (our home away from home) to check it out and not only does the pine bark look better, it was very comparable to the pinestraw bales. So, we started with 20 bags to start with the front yard. Yep - barely made a dent in two beds. So, we go back on Sunday and get 30 or more bags and get it home to finish the job. And, you guessed it, still needed more bags. So, we head back to Lowe's to get another 20 or so bags and bring them home. Finally, this is what we need and we finish the job. However, I have this vision of outlining the beds and our walkway with different size/shaped stones versus some of the standard brick, etc. you see. So, we head over to a specialized stone store on Sunday but they were closed so that is our next project for this weekend. I took a few pics (nothing really earth-shattering here but at least it's a visual, right?) of the before and after. Once we get the stones in the front, I think it will look completely different. And, this does not even address the back yard....that is going to take A TON more bags to do and we are not looking forward to that job!!!
