YAY...The new site it up!!

So, I have been talking about this site that Jon and I have been working on for a week or so now and we finally got it published and up tonight. Now, it's nothing completely AMAZING...yet....because we don't have a lot of stuff on there yet, but we do have our welcome page, one photo album and I posted my first blog post tonight. I can't wait to get it exactly where I want it but I wanted to share a 'sneak peek' with our family and friends who do actually check out this blog:) Once we get peanut's ultrasound on Tuesday, we'll let everyone else and give them the site link too. So....without further adieu....check out the Mittelbronn Fam site..

Let me know what you think.....or comment on the new site/blog.

Thanks for all of the calls, texts, emails, etc....

WOW - boy, do Jon and I feel loved!! Thank you to those who have sent congratulatory emails, texts and phone calls on our baby news. And, I was silly enough to think the news would not travel, although I will say we have still managed not to tell everyone just yet. And, many of you were too cute and didn't want to comment on the blog since we hadn't told everyone yet - too cute!! We are still waiting for the ultrasound on Tuesday (just ONE week) before we really 'start spreading the news.'

I am STILL working on the new Mittelbronn Fam site which will have photos, a blog, etc. so everyone can keep up with us Mittelbronn's in the ATL(like you have nothing better to do, right?). So, a funny story about our baby news from a good friend of mine from college....

She calls/texts me last week and said she had the strangest feeling that I was pregnant and asked if I was. She had not talked to anyone nor had she heard this from anyone yet....she just had this feeling. Chime in the 'Twilight Zone' music now....doo doo doo doo doo doo......How bizarro is that? She did know Jon and I were trying but I was just floored by this. And, she also guessed another friend of our's pregnancy when she got pregnant last year (who had her baby in November 2008 - and our baby is due in November 2009...coincidence...I think not!)

Anyway, not too much to report on since my last post except Jon and I just basking in the excitement of our baby news. It still doesn't seem real....except for the constant cramps, constant need to pee, sore boobs, and constant worry that everything will be okay with peanut. I just can't wait for morning sickness which my mom ASSURES me I WILL without a DOUBT get...hers was horrible!! YAY - anything for peanut, though!

Oh, we did make some headway with our yardwork this weekend. First, the weather was beautiful so we took advantage of the outdoors. We have a LOT of pinestraw beds in our front and back yard and the general rule of thumb is to replace it every six months (spring and fall). And, ours was looking like it had not been replaced since the land before time...just kidding...but it was serious need of some replenishment.

However, I was not too keen on the pinestraw..I wanted pine bark nuggets but we thought it might be too expensive. So, we head on over to Lowe's (our home away from home) to check it out and not only does the pine bark look better, it was very comparable to the pinestraw bales. So, we started with 20 bags to start with the front yard. Yep - barely made a dent in two beds. So, we go back on Sunday and get 30 or more bags and get it home to finish the job. And, you guessed it, still needed more bags. So, we head back to Lowe's to get another 20 or so bags and bring them home. Finally, this is what we need and we finish the job. However, I have this vision of outlining the beds and our walkway with different size/shaped stones versus some of the standard brick, etc. you see. So, we head over to a specialized stone store on Sunday but they were closed so that is our next project for this weekend. I took a few pics (nothing really earth-shattering here but at least it's a visual, right?) of the before and after. Once we get the stones in the front, I think it will look completely different. And, this does not even address the back yard....that is going to take A TON more bags to do and we are not looking forward to that job!!!

We Have News....

So, I am over the moon to announce that Jon and I are preggers and due in November. While I was hesitant to let people know this early, I also realized that not many people follow this blog since we bought the house back in August, so I know only a small number of friends and family (many of you who already know) will know now. Jon and I could not be more ecstatic and we go for our first ultrasound on Tuesday, March 31 at 1 p.m. I CANNOT WAIT!!!! Jon and I have been busy reading books and magazines this week about our growing little 'peanut' which is what we're calling it until we know if it's a boy or a girl (which we will find out).

I have started a new site that Jon is helping me with (we're building it through a new program on a Mac) which I will let EVERYONE know about about after our ultrasound and once we know things are progressing well with Peanut. Anyway, check out the ticker to the left that tracks the baby's progress between now and when I'm due (thanks, Stace - so cute). As I said, as soon as our new site is built, I'll be sure to let you know. And, once we know everything is okay with Peanut, we'll let the masses know about the site....and me, of course:)

Much love,
Jon and Melis

It's Already Wednesday!?!

So, I feel like I just blogged yesterday and realized by the date of my last blog that it has been a week. So, let me back track and tell you what has been up...specifically with the kitchen appliances. First, my parents went down to Florida last Thursday and left the hellian that is my brother with Jon and I. Let me tell you....this kid is....well, probably like most 17, almost 18 year-olds....obnoxious as HELL! Anyway, he did at least come in handy with the fridge on Friday night. So, that leads me into Friday. First, it was SO nice outside, I definitely caught a small case of spring fever but that quickly passed once Jon called me at work and told me he was ready to get the appliances handled....that night!!

Man, for someone who refused to move any appliances at the sight of a rain drop, Jon certainly was ready to get this done...and after work on a Friday, mind you. Oh well....I didn't mind. I meet him at Brand Smart and he is already there with the same sales person that helped us before. Mind you, the same lady that sold us that henous fridge with the gray sides. However, I will say that I must have picked up out at least four fridge's that had that SAME crap on the side. What is the deal? Anyway, we finally found a great fridge and then picked out our gas range and microwave...all stainless steel....I was SO happy. We decided to have the gas range installed and delivered (even Jon was scared about blowing up our house). So, we took the fridge home and the rest of the stuff will be delivered on Saturday. YAY!!

But let me back track again. When I got to Brand Smart, I asked Jon what he did with the food in the fridge. I thought he may plug in the old fridge that is still sitting in the middle of our garage along with the dishwasher, and put the food in there while we got our new one. No such luck.....Jon was like, "Where in the hell do you think I put the food - it's on the kitchen counters!"

So I remind Jon to try and hurry home so we can get this done. On my way home, I realize I don't have a key to the house since we gave my brother a key and my garage clicker is in my car, which is STILL at the shop. So, I call my bro and tell him to meet me at our house in 15 minutes. I was even giving him more time since I was less than 10 minutes away. The I realize I needed to stop at CVS and pick up a few things, giving him even MORE time to meet me there. So, I pull up to the house and his car is not there. I call him and he says, "Yeah..I am just leaving now." So, non-chalantly...like it's no big deal. I am SO beyond annoyed but creep around the back of the house and notice that Jon did not lock the back door. YAY - success! Although, probably not a good thing leaving the back door unlocked. All I wanted was a beer at this point and when I see the beauty that is Budweiser Select....on the kitchen counter....I smile. I run to it (imagine a slow motion commercial) and grab one of the bottles....pop open the top....take a swig and.....it tastes like warm PEE!!! F#%k!!!!

Anyway, the rest of the weekend was fun. We hung out with friends, had a nice, lazy Sunday and my brother managed not to get into any trouble! I would say it was a successful weekend.

This week has been crazy at work but I refuse to talk about work on my blog. The weather has been SO beautiful. I am talking bright sunshine, highs in the high 70s...PERFECTION! So, I started walking/running outside in our neighborhood and some of the other neighborhoods around us and I have been loving it. I love seeing the neighbors wave, the kids outside playing (yes, I am still in full mommy-trying mode but I'll save that for another post) and just seeing people outside in general. I was very sad to hear that it's going to get colder and...gasp...rain for the next four or five days. Gross but I'll deal with it....

Anyway, I decided that I want to have Luis (our awesome painter) come and quote the kitchen and half bathroom downstairs to be painted. I have never liked the color of the kitchen and that wallpaper in the half bath is just nauseating. I am thinking about a color a few shades lighter than the dining room - I just love that color. I think we have decided to at least hold off on the granite in the kitchen....for now, anyway:) I think I want to stain the cupboards in the kitchen before I do anything (well, at least after it's painted). We're not made of money, peeps...we have to prioritize.

Stay tuned and I'll post pics of the new appliances this weekend. I feel like this appliance stuff has been going on forever.

What a week.....

So, this has NOT been 'The Best Week Ever' but I don't want to get off my blog momentum (every two to three days isn't THAT bad, right?). Anyway, moving on...
I am very much looking forward to the weekend because Jon and I will finally complete our...duh duh duh duh....stainless steel appliance kitchen!! Seriously...this should have taken us a day to get everything in and, low and behold, here it is almost two weeks later and we still have the same heinous fridge and an old stove and microwave. But not to worry....it will all be in on Saturday. And, there should be no issues with the weather....sunny and 72 degrees. Whoo hoo!!

So, back to my car situation that I mentioned in my last post. So, what I thought was a simple window issue that would be under warranty, turned out to be much more...and much more money. How does this crap ALWAYS happen to Jon and I?!?! Anyway, so we drop off my car bright and early on Monday morning at the Honda service center right by our house. We figure...no biggie....we'll pick the thing up good as new (and under warranty and FREE) by the end of the day. Fast forward two hours and I get a call from the service center. It goes a little something like this...

Me: Hello?
Honda: Hi, is this Melissa?
Me: Yes
Honda: Hi, this is Joe Schmo from Honda
Me: Hi Joe Schmo. What's the dilly yo with my ride? (I am not kidding, I said this)
Honda: What the hell did you say? Anyway, did you realize someone tried to break into your car?
Me: Hahahaha....whatever. Seriously, what's up with the car?
Honda: No, ma'am...there is body damage to the passenger side of your car that has messed up not only the window, but the door which will require some body repair and we are not a body shop.
Me: Are you f#@cking kidding me, Joe?
Honda: No
Me: So, are you telling me that means it's not under warranty?
Honda: (chuckle) No, ma'am. You need to call your insurance company...
Me: Fabulous...because they've been SO helpful in the past (if you're not picking up on the sarcasm, then you should be 'cause I'm laying it on pretty thick at this point)
Honda: I am sorry but you can take it to our body shop at Honda Carland
Me: Okay, well thanks Joe...we'll be there during lunch to pick it up.

Okay, so Joe was right and he pointed out the damage (which he DID say I would not have noticed if I wasn't looking for it). So, we take it to Honda Carland, I call the insurance company and they can't even get an adjuster out there until tomorrow (Thursday) and this is Monday. So, I am looking at being without a car until at least Saturday, if not longer. SERIOUSLY!?!?! No worries....my good friend, The Chad Krutz, hooks me up with an '09 Nissan Xterra rental car, all covered under my insurance.

So, that is the saga that is my car....in the grand scheme of things...not a biggie but more of a pain than anything else.

Until next time....

Let it snow....

So, I hope everyone enjoyed Jon's blog post from Thursday night. I just re-read it again and still laughed hysterically. I am watching the snow fall - it so pretty!! We had a pretty good weekend but we were not as productive as I wanted to be. Friday night, I got back from Auburn (which was fun - I want to go back and do it all over:) and Jon and I met up with some friends at our new-found watering hole - Miller's Ale House. Uhh....you can't beat $5 pitchers, $1.95 beer, $2.00 Skky Vodka drinks, etc. So a nice big shout-out to Miller's Ale House. We had a great time! Saturday comes and it's so gross outside. I am feeling lazy so I let Jon win the argument about not returning the fridge and getting the rest of the appliances due to the rain. We had plans to go to a birthday party for a friend's two-year old and then go and meet up with some friends from work. So, we stop by Toys 'R Us on the way to the party and I stock up some Elmo toys I actually could have easily spent more but Jon put the kabosh on that. I worry how this will translate into our children since I will probably need some restraint from buying OUR kids any and everything in the store.

Anyway, Jon had looked up directions on Google and we were off. We pull into what we think is the neighborhood but the street that the house is off is nowhere in site. We drive around, thinking we missed something - we didn't. Jon calls some people, I call some people to find out where the hell this place is. No one answers because I am sure they're enjoying themselves at the party we can't find. After driving around a little more, we say screw it...what else could we do? So, we decided to go meet up with Stacy and Shane earlier than expected. I would like to give a shout-out to Stacy and Shane and their house which looks amazing. The photos do not even do the granite justice and the tile backsplash is gorgeous. Stacy was so kind and even let me have her samples as I talk Jon into putting that in our kitchen:)

We hang out there for awhile and then proceed to pub crawl it to a few different bars in the area over the course of the evening. We had a lot of fun!! On the way back to Stacy and Shane's, my passenger window decides not to roll up. Awesome!!! We decided to stay and Stacy and Shane's house instead of trekking it back up to Alpharetta and thank GOD for the UGA 'carport' Shane had just put up the day before. That really helped with the torrential rains and my window not rolling up. We get up this morning and Shane and I laugh as Jon tapes a garbage bag to the window so we can make it home with the window. Hilarity ensues....

First of all, the sound was SOO loud and I was not exactly feeling all that great this morning, if you know what I mean. We hop on 285 and the bag is flying all over the place and the tape is completely useless. Jon starts to sing a song over the noise to attempt to drown it out but that only makes things worse and I think I might just jump out of the car at this point!! In any event, we finally make it home...just in time for the snow to start falling. I hear it's supposed to be really cold tonight so I don't know what the hell I am going to do about my window. I thought about working from home tomorrow so I could take it in but I just looked at my day and it looks pretty brutal tomorrow so we shall see. Now, Jon and I are on our third scary movie of the day...we decided to make it a scary movie marathon day.

On another note, I have taken four pregnancy tests in the last four day and they have all been negative:( I think it's still a little early to test but I am really the epitome of impatient. So, wish me luck when I test again later this week. Oh who am I kidding...I will test again tomorrow morning.

Tonight's Study : Correlation between Laziness and Smelling like Fritos

Hey, it's Jon, I have decided to make a guest appearence on the blog(the office is a rerun). Bear with me it is my first time.

So we have a dog(Oliver), he maybe the laziest animal alive. He doesn't even bark because it takes too much energy. At any rate, every time we get him groomed, and washed within a few hours you can smell corn chips in the air. I would understand this if he were Air-Bud, but he sleeps 17 hours a day. Is his Frito-Layziness natural or is it some sort syndrome that causes him to sweat chili cheese. I digress this is just something that puzzles me.

The fact is that this is the first time I have ever blogged and I picked the topic with the first thing that came to mind(or nose, I guess). I could've have slammed my wife as she enjoyes doing on this blog, but I have decided to take high road. I intend to make an appearence every once in a while as it is Melissa and Jon's Blog.

My husband is the funniest person ALIVE....

So, I must say that Jon is one of the most hilarious people that I ever met. Even when he pisses me off, he still manages to make me burst out laughing (unless I am SUPER pissed) with some funny quip or even just making fun of me. Case in point, just a little bit ago here is how the conversation went down:

Jon: The kitchen smells like BO
Mel: What do you think it's from. I mean, aside from you?
Jon: Whatever. I think it's from the garbage disposal.
Mel: Oh speaking of, you do know that you are supposed to throw away the banana peels versus throwing them into the sink and waiting for the garbage disposal police to make sure they make their way down??
Jon: Oh really? Wait...I have an idea. Let's play a little game. Why don't you go to work every day, think about something I do to piss you off and then come home and tell me about it....every SINGLE night? Oh wait, you already do that and have been since the day we got married!!

Seriously....as much as that comment pissed me off, I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard. Seriously..he is the funniest person ALIVE (hence, the title of this blog). When we do finally get preggers, I pray that our child has half the sense of humor Jon does (and his dimples:).

Anyway, no update on the mom front. She had her CAT scan (I think it's CT scan but I like to spell it out:) today but we won't have results until later this week. I talked to her this morning and she finally told me, so non-chalantly, like it was no big deal. Anyway, I'll keep you updated on how she's doing but we are having some mom/sibling bonding on Friday. Her and I took off work and took my brother (who's a senior) out of school to take a nostalgic trip down to Auburn University for the day. He plans to start in the fall and is CLEARLY excited but has made it clear he wants to make a return trip down with Jon and I this summer. Gee...I wonder why????

I continue to stare at the heinous fridge right now...but enough about that. That thing will be out of here on Saturday morning. However, Jon made the comment that it is supposed to rain on Saturday morning. Uh...thanks for the weather update, Flip Spiceland. Why the hell does that matter? He is concerned that the rain might ruin the fridge as we return it. What the hell? Is it made out of snow or sugar all of a sudden?? It looks like someone is getting a case of the lazy's and is trying to score a preemptive strike. We'll be there rain or shine, you can count on that!!

Anyway, enough for the night. I really am trying to blog more often so I am going to try and get back on it tomorrow night.

Damn You Fridge....

Ok, I am going to just dive right into this blog because I am a little peeved about the appliance situation. So, Jon went and picked up the fridge from Brand Smart last night on his way to talk to some dude about some freelance work. I had a LONG day at work and then got an old but familiar message from an old friend...and it was not a good one. I had to go check on a friend to make sure she was okay and it just went downhill from there. I finally get on my way home and get a call from my dad - I HAVE to come by my parents house ASAP. I am like, 'what the hell...blah, blah.' In any event, I swing by the fam's house on my way home and learn my mom is having a CAT scan on Wednesday (tomorrow) for her stomach issues and they hope to find something wrong so they can address it. And best of all, she has failed to tell my brother and I so we are not even supposed to know she's having the damn thing. She has been struggling with stomach issues for years and it's she will be at the forefront of my thoughts all day on Wednesday!

My dad is explaining this situation to my brother and I and meanwhile Jon is calling me on his way home with the freakin fridge on the back of his truck. I finally meet him home and our friend comes (Zeeks - thanks, buddy) over to hang out and (unknowingly) help us get the fridge into the house. The fridge is finally in the kitchen and installed and......I am completely underwhelmed! I am so tired and preoccupied to even say anything to Jon at this point but I am severely upset. The freakin fridge does not even MATCH our damn dishwasher. Thanks, saleslady from Brand Smart. She was selling us on the fact that it was not only stainless steel, but titanium, meaning it would not get fingerprints. Little did that beeyotch mention that titanium is a completely different look and feel from regular stainless steel. Now, I am pissed. Then, I notice the sides of the fridge which were completely not on my radar when we were in Brand Smart. How am I supposed to see the sides of the fridge's at Brand Smart when they are side-by-side. My dumbass assumed they were black on the side, not this cheap, hideous looking 'stainless wannabe' crap. I mention it to Jon (finally) and he thinks I am a little crazy. Whatever, his ass will still be at Brand Smart on Saturday morning returning the damn thing.

However, I get an email this morning from him saying he thinks we should return it. He finally noticed how heinous it was and the fact that it looked like I painted the side of the fridge in some sort of gray color. So, we are returning that thing and getting a new one on Saturday, along with our new gas range and microwave. Zeeks - if you don't have plans on Saturday, we might need your help:) Kidding....

Anyway, I took a few photos of the fridge so you can see what we will happily be returning on Saturday. Well, Jon is not going to be happy getting that thing back in the truck but we'll get it. Anyway, that's my appliance update. I clearly have more important things to think about than appliances but thought I would share my mishaps on the blog:)

Will update soon.....

I love productive weekends....

So, I have not blogged in awhile but better late than never, right? Jon and I had a wonderfully productive weekend - more so than most in the past few months. Friday night, we made dinner and watched a movie. Saturday morning, we were up early and running errands by 9 a.m. We hit up the grocery store, got haircuts (I usually go to my salon but can't get in for another few weeks and desperately needed a trim), worked out and then strolled around Best Buy. This never leads to good things.....

While we're in Best Buy, I immediately go to the appliances. We have talked about upgrading our appliances to stainless since we moved in but decided we would do it one piece at a time. We priced out some options at Best Buy and then it hit us.....duh, let's get ourselves over to Brand Smart and haggle us into some new appliances. We swore we would still only buy the fridge if the price was right. Well, the price is ALWAYS right at Brand Smart so we ended up with a brand new, stainless steel (it's actually titanium:) LG fridge. It's the most beautiful thing I have seen -kidding. However, they didn't have it in stock so Jon is picking it up tomorrow. But wait, the shopping did not end there. Does it ever???? We also ended up with a new dishwasher which matches the new fridge perfectly. We almost bought the stove/range but it wouldn't fit in the truck so we have already picked it out and will be back next weekend for that!!! And do you know what I am listening to now? The sound of my dishwasher making NO noise at all and I'm loving it.

After Jon installed the dishwasher (a hilarious event in and of itself), we made dinner, and headed out to a neighborhood bar for a few drinks. I am still doing really well with the patch and not smoking so that was not even an issue last night. This morning we got up, worked out and decided to take a day trip to Dahlonega for lunch and to walk around. It was such a nice day, albeit a little cold, and it was a nice drive. We had lunch at this little cafe and then hit up the outlets on our way back. Trust me, we are not rolling the dough but we sure acted like it this weekend. Oh well! Our saleslady at Brand Smart told us it's better to buy this stuff now because once we have a baby, ALL of our money will be going towards the little one.

After we got home today, I did some work, made some fruit snacks for the week (smoothies and nonfat pudding with fresh fruit) and am now sitting down to relax.

And on that front, we are still trying to get preggers. I am such an impatient person and once I decide I want to do something, I want it to happen right then so even after trying for just a few months, I am SO ready for it to happen. I have already invested in a few books and think I'll buy Jon a book next weekend since he's so interested in the entire process. He is going to make such a great dad!! We even have our names picked out. If it's a girl: Madison Nicole and if it's a boy: Jackson Nicholas. Are we getting ahead of ourselves or what???

And finally, I went and saw the doctor on Friday about my knee and she wants to do an MRI. That sucks and I had to call by OB-GYN to see if I could even though I am not even preggers yet and she said it was fine since it will be confined to the knee area. I am hoping to get that done sooner than later. I guess we will see....

So, signing off and I will try to blog again before another two weeks goes by. And, I'll be sure to upload pics of our new stainless kitchen once everything is in:)

Alli and....well, just read on....

So, I am on day two of the patch and have not had a cigarette since Sunday night at about 9:55 p.m. I am feeling pretty good especially since I jogged even further tonight and could already tell a difference after such a short period of time. The evenings are the hardest but I am really trying to push through. I am hoping this keeps up....

So, on to the Alli pills I have started taking. GROSS ALERT - For anyone who may have a weak stomach or gets grossed out easily, this would be the time to stop reading this post. I had already heard that taking these pills may cause 'anal leakage.' If you think I am kidding, I am not at all (although not through experience). This is how last night/this morning went with talking to Jon and Stacy about this drug. Here is my convo with Jon last night:

Mel: Babe - you will never guess what I bought today?
Jon: Oh shit, what?
Mel: Chill. I bought Alli to help me lose weight AND to help mitigate any potential weight I may gain while trying to quit smoking.
Jon: You did WHAT?!?! I thought that shit was for extremely overweight people. What the hell are you thinking?
Mel: Oh Jon - you are being ridiculous! Anyway, I was reading the label and it said it may cause the following: loose stools that are hard to control, anal leakage.
Jon: I also heard that. You better be careful and I suggest you stop taking the damn things.
Mel: Whatever

This morning's follow-up convo as I am getting dressed:

Jon: Seriously, Melis?!?!
Mel: WHAT?
Jon: So, I guess you are not going to take Alli anymore?
Mel: Why would you say that?
Jon: Didn't we just talk about anal leakage last night?
Mel: So? I have been fine.
Jon: I would suggest getting the hell out of those white pants and save yourself from that embarrasment at work.
Mel: Shut up

I get to work, white-knuckling the drive in and wanting a cigarette (but I did not have one). I check in with Stacy and we are chatting. I tell her about Alli. Here's how this goes:

Mel: So, I heard that Alli can cause anal leakage
Stace: OMG - yes. I knew someone that took it and had to bring an extra change of clothes everywhere she went.
Mel: What tha?!?!
Stace: Yeah. She went to a BBQ, had one hot dog and in 20 minutes made a beeline for the bathroom.
Mel: Hmmmm....

So, all signs are pointing to this crap (no pun intended). However, because it's blocking fat, I think that really happens if you food high in fat content which causes the AL. So, there's just another reason to stay away from fatty foods. Oh, Alli.......how in the hell did the FDA approve this?

I'm back......

Holy crap - it's been almost six months since I've updated the blog. It's my self-diagnosed ADD - I lose interest very easily. Anyway, new year, new home, new goals. So, I threw on the Nicoderm CQ patch this morning in my attempt to quit smoking for good. I am happy to report that it's 4:30 p.m. and I have not had a cigarette all day. And, I'm even off work today which clearly has left me with time on my hands so I am feeling pretty good about that.

This effort to quit smoking all boils down to my 2009 goals. My 2009 goals are:
  • Quit smoking
  • Lose weight (I bought Alli over the weekend so I am hoping that in conjunction with my running three miles a day will really boost this goal)
  • Get pregnant
  • Save more money
  • Keep up with my blog

Hmmm....after reading my goals, I realize those are some pretty damn lofty goals. Shit!! However, I want to accomplish these goals in a certain order. Clearly, I want to quit smoking before I get pregnant. It's just a nasty but hard habit to break but I feel more commited than ever. I also bought the Nicorette gum and almost puked after I chewed once...and I even got the mint flavored. GROSS!! However, I was sporting the patch and reading the Nicorette pamphlet and it said not to use the patch in conjunction with the gum. And although the freakin gum cost $70, I was glad to hear I didn't have to do both.

And, I would like to lose some of the excess weight I've put on before I get pregnant too. But yes, Jon and I are very excited to get pregnant this year. I got some good advice from a friend, MacKenzie, to not stress about it and just enjoy trying:) It sounds like great advice to me so I am going to follow it to the letter.

I really thought we would wait longer to start trying but over the last few months, Jon and I have talked about this topic ad nauseum and feel we're ready!! I mean Jon is one big kid to begin with so I feel like I've already got some experience with children. So, I'll keep everyone posted on that front.

As I am writing this, I am watching Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (gee - I'll be ready to go back to work tomorrow) and Sue Ellen is smoking a cigarette and I got a little misty-eyed. This blows!

Anyway, Jon and I had our dining room and living room painted over the holidays and we just love the colors. If you remember the heinous wallpaper in the dining room, you would know why that crap was the bane of my existence so I am glad it's gone. Check out the pics!!!

Okay, so I am committed to blogging much more often now. Maybe I'll blog every time I crave a cigarette (if that's the case, I might have anywhere from 7 - 10 posts a day:).
